Meet Kristen Harding, M.D.

Kristen Harding, M.D. was one of the first certified Functional Medicine Physicians in the Cincinnati area. She has a unique perspective since she is a medical doctor and practiced family medicine for over a decade before changing her focus to functional medicine. She is constantly meeting patients for whom conventional healthcare has no answers. Using the Functional Medicine model she looks at the foundations of health including nutrition, sleep, movement, relationships, and stress. She then evaluates the physiology and function of each body system to understand what is being impacted. She carefully listens to your health story and gives you the tools to move forward toward healing and optimal health.

Dr. Harding began looking for new ways to help patients after spending more than a decade practicing family medicine. While working in both metropolitan and rural settings over the years, Dr. Harding was constantly meeting patients with serious health issues for whom the traditional healthcare model had no answers.

This led Dr. Harding to the discipline of Functional Medicine which incorporates a biology systems approach to health. She looks at the foundational pieces of health which include nutrition, sleep, movement, relationships, and stress.  She then evaluates the physiology and function of each body system to understand what is being impacted.  The Functional Medicine model also acknowledges that mental, emotional, and spiritual health impact every body system as well.  Functional Medicine is based on the latest research and allows patients to take a leading role in improving their health and changing the outcome of disease.

Dr. Harding lives in the greater Cincinnati area with her husband and daughter.  She knows the challenges of balancing career, family, and personal interests.  In her free time she enjoys listening to health podcasts, reading fiction, hiking, and camping.  Her happy place is the neighborhood public library where she loves to check out healthy cook books every few weeks to keep her trying new things.
